MARCH 2026 CLASSES STARTING SOON!

Basic Obedience Class:
This is our recommended option as all training is most effective when you as the owner, and the trainer are completely in sync. During this 7-week group course we will go over the most effective steps of teaching your dog commands and shaping their behavior. This includes 6 fundamental commands all dogs should learn. These commands include;
-Sit
-Down (lay)
-Stay
Leave It
Place
Heel
These commands provide the baseline for a relationship with your dog that is rooted in loving guidance, structure, and consistency that all dogs need from their owners.
Along with these commands we work on key concepts such as recall, and loose leash training, and reactivity.
We also ask each class participant for a few problem behaviors you have with your dog so we may work on them throughout the course. Problem behaviors from past classes have included crate training, jumping, littermate syndrome, erratic behavior when guests visit, chewing, food or toy aggression, and nipping.

Board or Day Training
We are introducing a new way to have your dog trained at Pet Retreat. This obedience training program’s focus will be core commands, and commonplace good manners.
The process begins with a 15-20 minute consultation so we may determine your exact
expectations and identify problem behaviors your dog may exhibit. Once those expectations have been established we can roughly determine how many sessions it would take to achieve these goals, and establish what days work best with your schedule.
This is not meant for issues such as major aggression or anxiety, although the discipline learned through the program can help with mild cases of these problems. It is also not meant for advanced types of training (hunting, therapy, or service).
Board and Day Training available Mon-Fri.
